Spectrum

Spectrum refers to the range of invisible radio frequencies that wireless signals use to travel. These frequencies enable various wireless communications, like making calls on mobile devices, using social media apps, calling rideshares, getting directions, and more.

The electromagnetic spectrum, of which the frequencies we use for wireless are a part, is much broader. It encompasses various frequencies that we interact with daily, even if we don’t often think about them. For instance, the visible spectrum includes the colors of the rainbow (ROYGBIV), while other parts of the spectrum are used for purposes like broadcast radio and television.
