There are two design paradigms for very-large-scale integration (VLSI) of complex circuits: system-on-chip (SoC) and network-on-chip (NoC). The method of building integrated circuits (ICs) using millions of transistors and other components on a single chip is known as very large-scale integration (VLSI).
